At the time that BOS100^® was conceived, it was designed to address contamination in an abiotic manner (chemical reaction). Biodegradation of chlorinated compounds was in it’s infancy. Through the years, our clients asked “How long does BOS100^® last in the process of degrading chlorinated solvents?” And the problem was that the answer has been “As long as the iron in BOS100^® lasts”.

CAT100™ addresses the problem of depleted iron by extending the life of the iron impregnated in the BOS100^® with a biological component, and the results at a number of full-scale projects were amazing – even to us.
